Myrtle Beach 2009

Here is a link that will take you to some of our vacation pictures!!! We had a wonderful time, although the weather could have been nicer. It was only really warm and sunny 2 of the 6 days we were there. We visited a lot of their tourists spots on the rainy, cool days so we still had fun together. Logan was still petrified of the ocean, loved playing in the sand and the shallow end of the pool. He loved the balcony in our room and got mad when we would shut the door. While we were there, we did a lot of shopping at their outlet shops, visited Ripley's Aquarium, South Carolina Children's Museum, Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, and a park. We ate at Fudruckers, a seafood buffet, Friendly's, Cheeseburger in Paradise, and Planet Hollywood.

Mother's Day

Logan and I went to Elkhart to visit my mom for Mother's Day. On Saturday evening, their church, Northside Church of the Nazarene, held a Mother-Daughter Banquet. I don't remember the last time we went to one, so I was really looking forward to it. We had a lot of fun playing games, eating good food and just socializing. One of the games was a Newlywed version, but for mom's and daughters. We played that and out of 8 questions, we only got 2 right! OOPS!!! It was still fun and I learned some new things about my mom!!

3 generations....Grandma, Mom and me

Before the banquet, my mom and I went and got pedicures and did a little bit of shopping. It was so nice to have some one on one time with her...it doesn't happen very often!! We caught up on all our girl talk and enjoyed being pampered!!!! I have the BEST mom in the world and I thank the Lord every day for blessing me with her!!!

Pictures Take 2

Well, we attempted #2 for his pictures on Tuesday morning. Unfortunately they did not go much better. He was fine until we had to walk into the room, and that's when he started whining and fussing. The photographer didn't really jump on the opportunities when he wasn't crying. I think she was waiting for a smile, which DID NOT happen. Every time she came near him with a ball or a car, he would just scream even louder. It would be so much easier if he could tell me what was scaring him or why he didn't want to be there. Another silly thing they do is having to take pictures with 3 different backgrounds....why would they torture a child when he's miserable? Keri and Owen were there as well getting his pictures taken, so she tried to help me distract him. It didn't work and Keri later told Glen, "I've never seen him like that before."
After the photographer got all the pictures, she looked at me and said I didn't really get any good pictures. Do you want to look at them or re-schedule? I told her I wasn't re-scheduling this appointment because I had already done it once. If the photographer had gotten a picture the first time, I wouldn't have put him through it again. There were only 2 pictures of him not crying, so I got both of those and we left. I'll have to post the pictures later. So, his 2 year pictures will always be memorable for me and I have the photographs to prove it!!!

Rough Monday

Monday morning started out with Logan's 2 year check up. He was fine until we walked back to the rooms and the nurse made him step up on the scale to check his weight. He did not like it, but somewhat cooperated. Next we went into THE ROOM and unfortunately Logan is all too familiar with the rooms (because of all his ear infections). He started whining and fussing once we walked in and stripped him down to his diaper. She asked the normal questions and then had to prick his finger to check the iron. He screamed the entire time she did it, but settled down once she left. Unfortunately she didn't squeeze enough blood out, so she had to come back in and he HATED that! Things didn't get much better when the doctor came in and he cried throughout his entire exam. He did tell me that it was typical 2 year old behavior, so that made me feel better. Overall, Logan is in excellent health and growing like a weed!
After his appointment, we went over to Owen's house to play. It was beautiful outside, so Keri and I sat outside and talked while the boys played. Logan was carrying a bucket and shovel, headed over to the sand box when he tripped and fell, falling onto the bucket. Blood was gushing out of his chin and under his lip, so it was hard for me to see the damage. We finally go the blood under control and saw he scrapped up his chin and his top teeth cut open under his lip. Like a trooper, he went right back to the bucket, shovel and sandbox.
Once we got home, I stripped him out of his clothes, set him in the recliner and turned the television on so he could relax for a few minutes. I ran upstairs and 5 minutes later, I came down to this.....

Break Dancing

Logan received a cd for his birthday and the songs are a lot of fun and, as you can tell from the video, good for dancing!!!

Logan turns 2!!!

2 years ago, on May 3rd, 2007, Logan Aaron Weaver joined this world. He was born at 4:48 p.m. (after 13 hours of labor), weighing in at 6 pounds 5 ounces, 19 inches long. At his 2 year check up, he weighed in at 26 pounds, 33 inches long.
It is so hard to believe my little boy is now 2 years old! Where did the last 2 years go? I hope the years start slowing down, otherwise I am going to look up and he'll be off to college! :( On Saturday, we celebrated with a party with some family and friends. We had a wonderful time with all our family and friends. We had some yummy food, delicious cake and a fun time opening presents. Logan had a hard time opening presents because he wanted to stop and play with every toy. He is a very blessed child and received many great presents.

On Sunday, we went to the zoo with Papa, MaMaw, Uncle Alan, Aunt Wendy, Andrew and Abby. It was the first time this summer and we had a wonderful time. Logan walked the entire time we were there, so he was quite tired and ready for his nap later that afternoon.

(No) Pictures from Hell....

It's only 9:35 in the morning and I am already stressed to the absolute max!! I took Logan into Portrait Innovations to have his 2 year old pictures taken. When we walked into the door, the guy greeted us and Logan started sharing his cars, so I thought this was a good start and we were going to have some successful pictures taken. (He didn't cooperate at his 18 month pictures, so I was hoping for the most this time.). He was fine until the white background came down and he DID NOT want to step foot on it. They tried different cars, balls, anything they could think of to entice him, but nothing worked!!! So, I tried sitting down with him on the mat and he was fine until I got up to walk away. Needless to say, anything we tried did not work and agitated him even more. By the time we left, he was crying and screaming hysterically and I did not get even one picture of him!!! I can't imagine what that poor photographer was thinking as Logan starts screaming and yelling louder and louder! If I was her, I would have been glad we didn't force the issue and left when we did!! We did re-schedule for next week, so I'm hoping for the best!! Say a prayer for us and I will have one picture of him at 2 years old, even if he is screaming his head off in it!! I'll make sure to post the picture when we get it!!! For my sake and sanity, I do hope my child isn't the only way to act this way, but for the photographer's sake, I hope he is!! :) My day can only get better from here....and Logan is in his bed resting and thinking about why he made such a big deal about getting his picture taken. If only he could tell me what's going on in his head instead of screaming at me, this whole thing would have been much easier!!! Unfortunately I don't understand toddler talk!!!
